when i call from gizmo / ekiga to a yahoo messenger , even if they accepted the buddy list invite from
it gest directly to voicemail,
another question is, is it really necessary to instruct yahoo messenger users to accept the buddy invite? before the call is supposedly being bridge?

Yes, you must accept an invitation from our gateway otherwise it's impossible to place a call to your messenger.
Can you please give some more detail concerning your problem (calls go to voicemail), like what Yahoo ID, from what SIP phone do you call, etc. You can contact us in private on .

I have the exact same problem. I use Ekiga on PCLinuxOS 2007 on my home computer. My friend (Joe) has a Yahoo! Messenger. He accepted me as his buddy and I am listed as gtalk2voip015 on his buddy list. However, if I call him it never rings there instead it goes to the voicemail.
Similarly, no success if he is trying to call me.
Even instant messaging does not work. I never receive his instant messages, instead he gets an error message as follows:
"Joe: hello botanick
gtalk2voip015: You entered: hello botanick
gtalk2voip015: Sorry, command was not recognized.
gtalk2voip015:
Please, enter command:"
If I try to send him an instant message I get the following error:
"You say:
[16:12] Hello Joe
says:
[16:12] *** User is not online or not registered to the service
"
Any help would be appreciated.

it just occured to me just now.. perhaps ekiga has a bug? or perhaps this is due to ekiga exlcuding the iLBC codec .
in any case , you can also try gizmo for linux which i must say is easier as gtalk2voip is already integrated wih it, tell your contact to remove the gtalk2voip contact in her buddy list , and re-invite him/her again through gtalk2voip invitation page, then try calling her again.
since your on pclinuxos which KDE by defalut, you might wanna look at twinkle sip phone, a kde based sip phone.
