hi , this topic is on behalf of an ekiga sip phone user..

when he  tries to call YM,  the other end will recieve a YM   error , "no voice signal detected"

these are the current codecs that ekiga is using by default

1. speex
2.gsm
3.ms-gsm
4.pcmu
5.pcma

there are other available codecs too, thats not enabled

G721
LPC

Hello Loell,

Yahoo says that when it cannot receive any media data within some period of time. This can happen if connection was logically established, but codecs were not choosen properly. As far as I understand Ekiga is a pure SIP softphone ? If so, can you please disable all codecs except PCMU and try to call to Yahoo ? Let me know if this works. I think there's a bug in codec selection algorithm in our gateway. Thanks.

I am getting the same message. The problem is with yahoo i guess. I call myself from msn and yahoo establishes the call but no voice signal detected error pops up after a while. Have you resolved this problem?
